Light Silent Death was born in Terni (Umbria, Italy) in 2005 by the two former members Simone Zampetti (bass, backing vocals) and Francesco Porchetti (lead vocals). Over the following years the band’s line-up is completed, thanks to the join of Francesco Briotti (piano, keyboards, synth, programming), Marco Delle Fate (guitar – S.R.L, ex T.E.R. and Subliminal Crusher), Francesco Bronzini (guitar) and Luca Paparelli (drums – S.R.L., ex Fear Traders, Maledicta and Human Cluster). 
The musical direction, initially defined on a gothic rock/metal style, settles into a heavy metal with death influences, which preserves the band’s gothic roots and, at the same time, is characterized by a strongly personal songwriting and a pretty defined sound, thanks especially to the effects and keyboards use.
In the first half of 2008 Light Silent Death released their first studio work, "20 Years…Of Obscuration", a self-produced 4 tracks demo, where the main lyrics theme was the will to reject the dark rules dictated by the contemporary society, with the intention of dispell the darkness which costantly fed all the mankind. After the demo release, Light Silent Death had a good live activity, with a great gig at Days Shocking Ground Festival in Terni (sharing the stage with Theatres Des Vampires, Stormlord, Infernal Poetry, Killing Touch ecc.). In September 2009 the band released a live EP, "20 Minutes...Of Obscuration", which contains 5 tracks recorded during their live exibitions.
After a year, where the band alternates an intense songwriting phase with a strong live activity, performing as opening act with bands like Dark Lunacy, Secret Sphere, Fleshgod Apocalypse, SRL and Subhuman, in January 2011 Light Silent Death entered in BPA Studios (Tuscany, Italy) with the producer Francesco Riganelli to record their debut album, "Under The Sign Of Cancer". The brand new record, which contains 11 tracks, was mixed and mastered between April and May 2011 and has been released in July via The Unlimited Records/Andromeda

La band si forma a Terni (Umbria) nel 2005 per volontà di Simone Zampetti (basso, voce) e Francesco Porchetti (voce). Nel corso degli anni successivi la line-up si completa, trovando stabilità nella formazione attuale, grazie all'innesto di Francesco Briotti (piano, tastiere, synth, samples), Marco Delle Fate (chitarra), Francesco Bronzini (chitarra) e Luca Paparelli (batteria). 
La proposta musicale intrapresa dal gruppo, inizialmente definita su uno stile gothic rock/metal, si assesta verso un heavy metal di stampo death melodico, fortemente caratterizzato da una propria impronta nel songwriting e nell'impostazione del proprio sound, soprattutto grazie all'uso dell'effettistica e delle tastiere.
Agli inizi del 2008 i Light Silent Death danno alla luce "20 Years…Of Obscuration", demo autoprodotto di quattro tracce, la cui tematica principale affrontata nei testi è la volontà di respingere gli oscuri canoni dettati dalla società contemporanea, con l'intento di dissipare l'oscurità di cui l'uomo è costantemente nutrito.
All'uscita del demo segue una buona attività live, culminata con l'esibizione al Days Shocking Ground Festival di Terni (insieme a Theatres Des Vampires, Stormlord, Infernal Poetry, Killing Touch ecc.) e con l'uscita nel Settembre 2009 di un EP live, "20 Minutes...Of Obscuration", che raccoglie cinque brani del gruppo registrati durante alcuni dei concerti di promozione del demo.
Dopo un anno passato ad alternare la scrittura di nuovo materiale con frequenti uscite live insieme a band quali Dark Lunacy, Secret Sphere, Fleshgod Apocalypse, SRL e Subhuman, a Gennaio 2011 i Light Silent Death sono entrati nei BPA Studios (Cortona, AR) del produttore Francesco Riganelli per registrare il loro debut album, intitolato "Under The Sign Of Cancer". Il disco, che contiene undici tracce, è stato mixato e masterizzato nel mese di Aprile 2011 ed è uscito in commercio nel mese di Luglio 2011.
