Tra il fango delle paludi pontine nascono i Korrigans, da un'idea di Solstafir (batteria) e Torc (chitarre), le cui prime composizioni sono chiaramente influenzate dal folk, un vero e proprio marchio di fabbrica da lì in poi. La line up cambia spesso tra chitarristi e bassisti poco portati per il progetto, fino all'arrivo di Ensis (chitarra), con il quale la formazione diviene più salda. La vera anima dei Korrigans, però, si materializza grazie all'arrivo delle sonorità folk di Spiorad (fisarmonica e tastiere) e dell'approccio black di Thanatos (voce), già noto nella scena underground per aver militato negli Hybris. Successivamente, con l'arrivo di Dalk (basso), si completa la line up che andrà a registrare il primo demo "Korrigans". L'idea è quella di proporre melodie derivanti dalla musica celtica e folk europea, arricchite da massicce componenti black metal destinate a ricordare la storia dei nostri antenati e il loro sangue versato per gli antichi ideali, fino a toccare le ancestrali tradizioni pagane...

KORRIGANS' FIRST FULL LENGHT "FEROCIOR AD REBELLANDUM" COMING OUT AT THE IDES OF MARCH...

Among the mud of the Pontine Marshes the Korrigans were born by an idea of Solstafir (drums) and Torc (guitars), whose first compositions were already influenced by folk contamination, which then become a true trademark. The lineup changes often until the arrival of Ensis (guitar), whereby the formation
is firmer. The true spirit of Korrigans, however, is materialized with the arrival of the folk sound of Spiorad (accordion and keyboards) and the black metal approach of Thanatos (vocals), already known in the underground scene for having militated in Hybris. Then, with the arrival of Dalk (bass), the line up is completed to record their first demo "Korrigans". The idea is to propose music derived from european folk and celtic music, enriched by massive black metal components designed to remember the history of our ancestors and their blood shed for the ancient ideals, up to recount the ancestral pagan traditions...
